Why it works

You don’t get stronger sitting down

After 60, the thing to beat is the fall. One in four adults over 65 falls each year, per the CDC. Chair stretches don’t fix that. Picking things up, carefully, with a coach watching, does.

The hour

Same shape every class

1

Warm up

Easy movement. Everybody checked in by name.

2

Strength

One or two lifts. Dumbbell, sandbag, or kettlebell. You pick the weight.

3

Balance

Carries, step-ups, a wall sit you'll laugh through.

4

Cool down

Stretch, breathe, pick a lunch spot. Done by 11:30.

The honest answers

I haven't exercised in years.+

Most people here started at zero, some in their seventies. Everything scales, and the coach is beside you the whole hour.

Bad knee, new hip, heart condition?+

Tell the coach before class. Everything has a version that fits you today. If your doctor gave you limits, we follow them.

Is this CrossFit?+

It's run by CrossFit coaches in a CrossFit gym. You won't touch a barbell until you ask. This class uses dumbbells, sandbags, boxes, and body weight.

What does it cost?+

Your first week is free, no card, for local residents. After that, call or text 505-264-7341 for the straight number.
