February Coach Spotlight: Bobo

Name: Matt Booth (aka Bobo, El Toro Blanco)

Position: Coach (7pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays)

When did you start doing CrossFit? June 2010

What made you decide to start coaching? I fell in love with CrossFit and the community from the beginning and I wanted to have the opportunity to share what I experienced with others.  I wanted to help others find joy in fitness and show them the importance of living a health lifestyle.

What do you like most about coaching? Seeing people push past limits they thought were never possible, building relationships with amazing people, and helping others to achieve their goals.

What is your favorite thing to coach? The Olympic lifts.  They are often the most challenging, but also the most rewarding.

What is your least favorite thing to coach? Nothing really.  Some things are more difficult than others, but everything provides an opportunity to grow for both me as a coach and the athlete.

What is your favorite lift? Hang Power Cleans

What is something most people do not know about you? I’m really into knives.

What is your favorite thing about the CrossFit community and CFABQ community? I could write an entire blog post about this, but I will try to be succinct.  The great people and relationships I have made are truly incredible.  I believe suffering through difficult physical tasks teaches us a lot about life; I really enjoy and appreciate those lessons.  I am constantly humbled in many ways and I think this is invaluable.

What are you most excited about in 2019? Spending time with my amazing girlfriend Kellie, our two dogs, and all my amazing friends from CFABQ.
