3 reasons why you should sign up for the open

It is that time of year, and whether you like it or not the open is coming. Those of you who know me know that I absolutely despise the open… and that is why I want to give  you a few good reasons why you should sign up this year.

 

1.  You have worked so hard to build your fitness, to refine your skills, to be the best you possible. Why not see what your capable of? Why not try and push yourself? Just like when you first made the decision to join this crazy thing called Crossfit? There is nothing to lose except $20 to HQ (subject to change knowing HQ….) I will be the first to admit that Ive always checked my leader board standings after every workout, even if I was 20,000th place, I worked hard for that spot.

2. Call me crazy but I think we all secretly love that nervous feeling you get before a wod. Especially the ones that scare us, and especially the ones we know are not going to be in our wheelhouse, because those are the ones you really remember. Those are the ones that can really change you, maybe not physically but mentally. The open is a relatively easy way to do something that scares you. Even if a workout gets you down, it may take a little while but you will beat that score.

3.  PR’s for days. I have seen so many people do their max multiple times and even some others get a brand new max while doing an open wod. There is no substitute for adrenaline, and it is freakin awesome when you hit a PR in a competition. Doesn’t matter if that PR is stringing 5 doubleunders in row, or snatching #205.

Think about it… Registration opens January 15th. I would love to see each and every one of you there.
