The Nutrition Seminar #2 will be the following Saturday, November 14th at 2pm. Even if you didn’t attend the first seminar, you can still attend this one. Our awesome member, Becky Freeman, will be discussing the following topics:
I. YOU KNOW HOW TO LOAD YOUR BAR… BUT HOW DO YOU LOAD YOUR PLATE?
In the previous seminar, we discussed how to calculate your carbs, protein, and fat intake, but what does this really mean for you? In this seminar we will discuss ideas on HOW to put together your daily meals and snacks. Ideas for snacks and meals will be presented.
II. HOW TO SHOP: FOOD LABELS
Now that you know what you should be eating during the day, we will discuss how to choose the right foods at the grocery store. The vast majority of people misread labels placed on foods. Ingredient labels are often ignored and nutrition facts are often confusing AND deceiving. We will review how to read labels and ingredients. Becky will also take us on a trip to the grocery store to place this knowledge into practical application!
