Black Box Fitness is hosting the inaugural Independence Games on Saturday, July 29th!

This competition is a multi-division competition for athletes of ALL levels!

Saturday, July 22nd 3pm-5pm CFABQ Kettlebell Workshop

We are super stoked to have Thomas, an SFG Kettlebell Instructor Level 1, coming to CFABQ for a kettlebell workshop. He will teach us proper technique when it comes to the many different kettlebell movements, how to be efficient, and then run us through a kettlebell only workout!

Duke City CrossFit Presents: The Conquest - June 24th and 25th. This is for scaled and Rx teams and individual firebreathers.

CFABQ will be closed June 24th-25th for the competition. We encourage you to compete or hang out and cheer on your fellow CFABQers as they fight for a spot on the podium!

June 3rd-4th New Mexico Games

The New Mexico Games is a weightlifting meet that will be held at the UNM Olympic Sports Weight Room. Our very own, Mitch McClune, will be lifting on Sunday, June 4th at 12:30pm. May 27th The Melissa WOD - Finding a Cure for PSP

May 27th we will be participating in the Melissa Memorial WOD in honor of Becky Freeman's mother.

Melissa, Becky's mother, passed away last year in May from PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), an uncommon brain disorder that affects movement, control of walking (gait) and balance, speech, swallowing, vision, mood and behavior, and thinking.

May is also PSP Awareness Month. Becky and her sister, are making strides to create a bigger impact on awareness month in May for PSP and fundraising for research for a cure, here in ABQ.

Easter Sunday is right around the corner. The gym will be closed for Easter, there will by no Olympic lifting or Open Gym. Enjoy your Sunday with your friends families and eat some good food!

April 7th-9th The Railyard Games

Held at the historic Albuquerque Railyards, this competition will test all levels of functional fitness over the course of 3 days. 
Masters (40+) and Elite will be individual competitors, RX will be same sex teams, and Scaled are co-ed teams. 

October 1st Bear Canyon CrossFit Presents: The Autumn Games

This team competition will be teams of 4 (2 females and 2 males) held on October 1, 2016. Registration opens August 6, 2016!

August 21-22nd Barnyard Brawl CrossFit Competition

The Barnyard Brawl is BACK! The Barnyard Brawl is a local individual CrossFit competition hosted by Big Barn CrossFit. This is a sold out event!

June 25-26th Duke City CrossFit Presents: The Conquest

This is a local CrossFit Competition being held by our friends at Duke City CrossFit. We encourage our members to sign up and participate!

May 30th Memorial Day Murph

This Memorial Day we will be doing Murph, as we do every year. We will only have 3 classes doing Murph at 6am, 9am, and 12pm. There will be no Open Gym this day, so please try to make it in to one of the scheduled class times. 
If you would like to wear a wighted vest, please bring your own from home or find a friend's to borrow.

Whitney’s next Boot Camp session begins Tuesday May 28th @5am. Boot Camp is an 8 week program that meets 2x/week (Tues/Thurs) and is the perfect introduction into Crossfit. Over the course of the 8 weeks you will develop strength and conditioning fundamentals and work your way up in difficulty as the session progresses. The classes are designed with beginners in mind, and can accommodate any and all fitness levels. The atmosphere is low key and aimed towards building the skills and fitness to advance quickly and build confidence. You will learn how to properly and safely perform basic body-weight, weightlifting, and kettlebell exercises and develop the intensity Crossfit athletes thrive on. If you are new to functional training methods or just would like a smooth transition into Crossfit then the Boot Camp is the perfect place for you. Share this with your family and friends!
